Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults come after nights of air raids in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
